Generator Services in Raleigh, Fayetteville & Surrounding Areas

Storms can cause much damage in Fayetteville and the Triangle between high winds and flooding. With our power grid under strain, we’re more susceptible to power outages than ever, so homeowners need to consider options for keeping the lights on when the power goes out.

One option is the whole-home generator, and Blanton’s is here to provide the generator services you need to handle outages without interruption.

Call us in Fayetteville or the Triangle to request trustworthy generator service today.

Expert Generator Installation

A whole-house generator is a fixed unit that can run your whole home during a power outage. Manual options require you to flip a switch to start the generator, but others can turn on automatically when they sense power has gone out.

When you install a whole-home generator, you’ll work with a certified electrician to determine the correct size system to keep your home going for the desired time after a power outage. Depending on home size and energy consumption, you can power your home with a propane tank. With a natural gas line, you have even greater peace of mind.

Benefits of Installing a Whole-Home Generator

Why are Raleigh-Durham residents choosing to incorporate whole-home generators? The benefits are significant.

  • Reliability: A generator means you don’t need to stress about losing power when sheltering through a storm or other weather event.
  • Value: As demand for generators rises, you can typically ask more for your home if it already has a quality generator installed.
  • Functionality: Compared with a smaller portable generator, a whole-home system powers much more than any other option can.

Standby Generators vs. Whole-Home Generators

Standby generators can only power essential systems in your home. Just like whole-home generators, standby options are also permanently installed outside your home, but they can provide less power. While a standby generator can’t power everything, they are great options when you only need to run your HVAC, refrigerator, sump pump, and other critical systems. Our expert team of electricians can help you determine which option and model is best for you and your home based on your needs and budget.

6 Signs You May Need Generator Replacement

Is your generator showing signs of excessive wear or malfunction? It may be time to replace your old generator with a new one!

Here are six signs that you may need to schedule a generator replacement:

  • No Longer Supported: If your generator is old enough that it is no longer supported by the original equipment manufacturer, it’s time to get a replacement.
  • Expensive or Frequent Repairs: If your generator has broken down more than once recently or the cost of a repair would exceed 50% of the cost of a replacement, it’s time for a new generator.
  • Not Enough Power: If your generator is no longer capable of running all the needed electrical appliances in your home, you need a newer and more powerful generator.
  • Difficulty starting: If your generator has trouble starting or doesn’t start at all, it may signal that it is at the end of its life.
  • Excessive fuel consumption: Generators that start using more fuel than normal may have major issues that call for a replacement.
  • Frequent stalling or shutdowns: If your generator often stops or shuts down unexpectedly, it could be because of fuel problems, overheating, or electrical faults that require a replacement

    Why You’ll Love Us!

I would recommend Blantons and i would recommend their service plan if you aren't already routinely maintaining your home. We opted in for the Blantons WOW membership after several hefty repairs proved that HVAC systems in North Carolina require special and constant care. The membership is fairly priced if you use it. The service covers AC, heat, electrical and plumbing general/routine maintenance and a lot of extra incidentals that could lead to costly repairs.

Another reason for a 5 star and a recommendation is that Blantons will make things right with you if you are left uneasy or if a service isn't done well. Today we had a scheduled appointment for our WOW member maintenance on HVAC (you do have to schedule hvac, plumbing, electrical separate but they are all covered). The tech came out and didnt complete the assigned task, instead he told us we had several things that needed replaced/cleaned and provided a 2500 estimate to replace a control board or to clean a blower motor...and left it at that. We called and explained the situation, and within a couple hours we had a senior tech back at the house to complete the maintenance that was scheduled. Chase was his name and he saved the day, and saved a 5 star review. After completing the job, he also found the control board wasn't defective, rather just not set up correctly and actually found a way to save us some money on the electric bill.

All that being said, there was no fuss, no arguing, they just made it right and got us taken care of...and for that reason we will continue to use them and recommend them. Every other experience before today has been exemplary with them, and we're sad to hear Terry is no longer with the company, but guys like Chase still know how to provide great customer service!

I have been depending on Blanton's service for about a year and half now and I always come away feeling that they are doing the best for my equipment while keeping in mind that I don't have unlimited funds. Their technicians are very polite, knowledgeable and respectful.

This review addresses the superb service we enjoyed today (8/25/26), courtesy of two thoroughly professional Blanton’s HVAC techs, Mr. Joe Ford and Mr. Ryan Johnson. As “WOW” customers, we receive free HVAC check-ups twice yearly…prior to winter and summer, among other benefits. As long-time customers, we should be accustomed to gracious, knowledgeable techs (and scheduling folks); but we never tire of being treated like royalty…and, given what passes for service elsewhere these days, that’s not much of an exaggeration.
Mr. Ford and Mr. Johnson arrived precisely on time, of course, introduced themselves, asked if we’d been experiencing any problems (we haven’t), and set to work.
I always learn something hanging around Blanton’s field techs, and today was no different. We had some questions about our high-speed, low-drag 😎, 21st century thermostat and remote sensor. Over the next 90 minutes, our guests used easily-understandable English to explain away our confusion WHILE they were performing their detailed inspections and testing. Thank you, men! We look forward to our Spring check-up!
