It has been estimated that if just one in 10 households purchased an Energy Star-qualified HVAC system to replace the older one they are using now, that would bring about a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions that would amount to removing 1.3 million cars from the road each year. That would be 15 billion pounds less greenhouse emissions going into the atmosphere.
Buying only Energy Star qualified appliances such as heating and air conditioning systems for the home really does matter when you wish to save money and cut down on the negative impact you and your family are having on the environment.
